LaCie has unveiled Rikiki - a 2.5in external hard drive, which it claims is the most compact on the market.

Measuring 110x75x13mm and weighing 158g, the hard drive can be slipped in your pocket.

Encased in brushed aluminium, it connects to a PC or Mac via a USB connection.

LaCie says Rikiki, which means 'tiny' in French, also comes with software that allows users to set-up and manage a back-ups.

"We are part of a generation that wants more from our electronics, but in the smallest form factor possible, and with a competitive price," said Anne-Sophie Marchand, Consumer Product Manager.

"With the LaCie Rikiki, we have done just that by fitting high-performance and high-capacity in the palm of your hand, for under £100."

Available in 250,500 and 640GB prices, the LaCie Rikiki is priced from £69 and available from LaCie's online store now.
