G-Tech Mini external hard drive range

G-Tech is launching its G-Drive external hard drive range in the UK.

The 3.5in G-Drive and 2.5in G-Drive Mini devices are already available in the US and are aimed at creative professionals. Judging from the review comments on our sister site, Macworld US, G-Technology drives are set to enter the 'premium' end of the storage market, with chassis designed to look good as well as to be practical.

The fanless G-Drives are almost silent in operation and come in a choice of USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 and 800 versions. Compatible with both Windows PCs and Macs, the G-Drive Mini and G-Drive come in capacities from 160GB up to 1TB (terabyte).

The FireWire models use the respected Oxford chipset, while the triple interface version of the G-Drive offers transfer using both FireWire 400 and 800 and USB and has a 7,200rpm disk.
