PlanOn Printstik PS910 portable Bluetooth printer

PlanOn has launched the Printstik PS910, a £199 portable Bluetooth and USB printer.

The 700g Printstik PS910 is a monochrome thermal printer and prints directly on to the specially-coated paper, with no need for ink cartridges. Each paper roll offers the equivalent of 20 sheets of A4.

Photos and text documents to be printed on the PlanOn Printstik can be transmitted to it via a wireless Bluetooth connection or imported directly via USB. The idea is that documents can be sent to the Printstik from a smartphone just as easily as from a laptop or PC.

There are three print quality modes. In conservation (aka draft) mode, the Printstik PS910 can output up 3 pages per minute. A lithium-ion battery allows the Printstick to be used as a portable device. However, only around 30 pages can be printed before the device needs to be recharged.

The Printstik PS910 is priced at £199 while the paper costs £9.99 for three rolls. Both items are available direct from www.planon.com.
