Samsung launches world's slimmest printer

Samsung has launched two swanky compact, grand-piano-black, high-gloss finish printers. The Samsung ML-1630 and SCX-4500 monochrome printers.

Samsung claims that at just 11cm thick the Samsung ML-1630 is the world’s slimmest monochrome laser printer. The other printer being launched, the multifunctional Samsung SCX-4500, also aims to combine performance with sophisticated design.

With these stylish additions to its printer range Samsung is targeting design-focused printer users. Both printers have replaced unnecessary buttons with soft-touch sensors and blue LED lighting for more convenient access to menus.

Samsung claims the Samsung ML-1630 and Samsung SCX-4500 are capable of printing up to 16ppm (pages per minute) on A4, with the multifunction SCX-4500 copying up to 16ppm in A4 and scanning at an optical resolution of up to 600x600 dpi and a software enhanced resolution of up to 4,800x4,800dpi.

Both models have a paper tray capable of holding up to 100 sheets, a memory capacity of 8MB and are connected via Hi-Speed USB 2.0. The ML-1630 weighs 6.4kg and the SCX-4500 8.6kg.

The new grand-piano black printers range starts at £129.99 and will be available from next month.
