Linksys WAP610N wireless access point

Cisco's latest Linksys-branded wireless access point, the WAP610N, offers 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity over either 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless frequencies.

The WAP610N Linksys Access Point can be used to stream high-definition video across a home or small business network. It connects to your existing network either by Wi-Fi or ethernet and features three internal antennas.

The device, which measures 145x106x52mm and weighs 159g, works with both Windows and Mac networks and offers the ability to create secure wireless connections between the access point and another device.

"The new Linksys by Cisco WAP610N gives consumers everything they need to create a high speed wireless network," said Jens Hofmeister, director product management, Cisco Consumer Products.

"Addressing the rise in entertainment devices connected to home networks, the WAP610N offers optimised HD Video streaming, as well as an upgrade to your network, all encompassed in to a sleek, stylish design, which wouldn't look out of place in your home."

The Cisco Linksys WAP610N access point is priced at £89.
