Connections run to Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi, so you'll need to log on at a wireless hotspot or use your home Wi-Fi connection whenever you want to update your Facebook or Twitter status. An integrated updates screen lets users keep abreast of friends’ statuses, photos and contacts.
The 100g Vodafone 555 handset runs the Opera Mini browser and features staples such email, as a stopwatch and calculator but no fancy extras such as real-time weather updates. Vodafone cites a seven-hour battery life with a standby time of more than 600 hours. The phone is quad-band and, in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, offers GPRS and Edge connectivity.
