Motorola has updated its budget smartphone and introduced a 4G version. Here's everything you need to know about the new Moto E and Moto E 4G, including UK release date, price and specs. Read our original Motorola Moto E review.
New Moto E, Moto E 4G UK release date: When is the new Moto E coming out?
Unveiled today, The 4G Moto E will go on sale in 40 countries around the world tomorrow (26 February). Meanwhile, the updated 3G version will be available in the US, Latin America and India from 3 March; a UK release date has not yet been confirmed. Also see: Moto E vs Moto G comparison.
New Moto E, Moto E 4G UK price: How much will the new Moto E cost?
The Moto E 4G is not surprisingly more expensive than the original Moto E and will be available from Amazon, Tesco and Carphone Warehouse for £109.
We do not yet know the pricing for the updated 3G version, but in the US it will cost $119.99. That's $30 cheaper than the 4G version, which suggests to us it will cost around £90 in the UK, in line with the original Moto E. Also see: Motorola Moto E vs Nokia Lumia 530.
New Moto E, Moto E 4G specs: What to expect from the new Moto E
The new Moto E and Moto E 4G are both fitted with 4.5in qHD displays, protected with Gorilla Glass. They run Android 5.0 Lollipop (with guaranteed upgrades to the next version of Android) on 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processors.
There's 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded through microSD up to 32GB. Motorola also fits 1GB of RAM, plus VGA- and 5Mp front- and rear cameras.
The new Moto E and Moto E 4G are splashproof, and are said to offer all-day battery life. They also feature an FM radio and Motorola software.
Motorola Bands and Grip Shells will be available to purchase separately.
