Like many of its rivals, LG isn’t happy to just have one flagship phone and has announced both bigger and smaller models of the LG G4. The LG G4 Stylus is a larger 5.7in 'phablet' option which comes with a, er, stylus while the LG G4c is a smaller and cheaper model at 5in but LG has avoided called it the LG G4 mini.

"The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price," said Juno Cho, CEO of LG Mobile. "We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. Both the G4 Stylus and G4c will surpass customers’ expectations of what an LG phone should be."

LG G4 Stylus and LG G4c: Release date and price

We're waiting on specifics but LG has said both new phones will begin shipping to retailers globally in the 'next several weeks and throughout the month of May'. It also said the LG G4 Stylus and G4c are 'scheduled to launch in key strategic markets' which we assume includes the UK.

In terms of price, LG described the new devices as 'exceptionally priced' and going by the comments from Cho above, they will be cheaper than the LG G4 which starts at £500. We'll update this article with more information as it is announced but expect mid-range prices around the £300 mark.

European prices look set at €349 and €249 for the Stylus and G4c respectively, via AndroidPlanet.

LG G4 Stylus and LG G4c: Specs and features

One thing to point out is that the G4 Stylus (called the G4 Stylo in North America and Korea) and G4c won't come in leather which LG is saving for the flagship model. The Stylus will come in both both LTE and 3G models in a choice of Metallic Silver or Floral White colours while rhe G4c is LTE only and will come in Metallic Gray, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold.

Both the G4 Stylus and G4c come with a 5Mp front facing camera, HD quality IPS displays with In-Cell Touch technology and software features including Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code within Android 5.0 Lollipop.

You'll have to opt for the LG G4 Stylus with LTE if you want a 13Mp camera with laser auto focus though as the G4c has an 8Mp camera. LG said the phablet model includes its Rubberdium stylus for easy note taking and drawing.

Other features across both new phones include 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, NFC and a removable battery. Just 8GB of storage is somewhat on the low side for what will be mid-range priced devices.
