HTC has confirmed the Desire C is its latest budget Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone.
Confirmed specifications for the Desire C include a 3.5-inch touchscreen (320 x 480), a 5Mp camera, Beats Audio and 4GB of internal storage. It will be available in black, white or red colours and include a bonus of 25GB cloud storage with Dropbox.
It will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich like HTC's One X, One S and One V with the firm's Sense overlay. This will be powered by a 600MHz processor and 512MB of RAM. The most surprising thing, considering it's a budget device, is the inclusion of a near-field communications (NFC) chip.
The Desire C measures in at 11.95mm but is extremely light at just 98g.
T-Mobile has announced the HTC Desire C will be free on from £15.50 per month on a 24 month contract, or for £169 on pay as you go. It will go on sale early next month. Online retailer Clove has put the Desire C up for pre-order with a price of £189 SIM-free and a release date of 24 May.
