Acer has launched a limited edition Ferrari version of its Liquid Smartphone. The bright red touchscreen smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm 8520 processor and runs the Google Android 2.1 Eclair mobile operating system.
The 135g Ferrari Liquid E smartphone measures 115x64x13mm and has a 3.5in WVGA screen. The Liquid E has five rotating home screens that have been designed as a panorama so you can swoosh a finger across them and have your iconic supercar speed across it. Designed as a stylish entertainment phone, the Ferrari Liquid E has a 5Mp camera, GPS and its own media player. A widget called Spinlets allows for music streaming so you can share tracks with friends over the web to any Wi-Fi-connected device.
The web browser stores live thumbnails of the last visited page of favoured sites so you can see at a glance what the latest headlines are and whether the content has been updated since your last visit.
"A Ferrari is not just about speed. It is an expression of beauty, power, excitement, pleasure and natural excellence" comments Gianpiero Morbello, Acer's vice-president of marketing and brand. "From the original concept to the finished product the new smartphone was conceived down to the finest details with the idea of giving a stronger sense of belonging to all Ferrari fans."
For those that want to chat hands-free, there's also a Ferrari-branded Bluetooth headset that can be used in conjunction with the Liquid E mobile phone.
