A Dolby Digital tablet and a phablet that can record 4K video
Acer has unveiled its new Iconia A3 tablet and Liquid S2 smartphone which will both be on show at this week's IFA technology show.
Getting in before the wave of news and new products at IFA 2013, Acer has confirmed two of its new devices before they are unveiled. The line-up will include the Android-powered Iconia A3 and Liquid S2 phablet.
First up is the Iconia A3, a 10 in (1280 x 800) Android tablet which will go up against devices such as the Google Nexus 10. Acer says it's great for entertainment, multimedia, gaming and web experiences – ideal for a tablet don't you think?

The A3 is powered by a 1.2 GHz cortex A7 processor and can deliver up to nine hours of video playback. Sound is supposedly immersive and cinematic thanks to Dolby Digital Plus and ergonomic speaker placement.
Other features include 16- or 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 5 Mp rear camera and an unusual micro HDMI port.
The Iconia A3 Wi-Fi-only version will be available in early October with a suggested a starting price of €249 with a 3G model following in November for €299.
Acer will also be unveiling a new 6 in Full HD phablet called the Liquid S2 which it says is the first smartphone with the ability to record 4K Ultra HD video thanks to its 13 Mp rear camera and 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
The Liquid S2 will also feature support for 4G LTE networks and the latest 11.ac Wi-Fi standard. Like the Iconia A3, it comes with Dolby Digital Plus and Acer said users can add up to 128 GB of external memory alongside the 16 GB provided.
The Liquid S2 will be available at the end of October but pricing is yet to be announced.
