BlackBerry 10 Z10 and Q10 offer touchscreen or qwerty keyboard to cover both bases
BlackBerry, formally RIM has finally launched its first BlackBerry 10 smartphones, the Z10 and Q10.
To tempt both existing customers and people who haven’t used BlackBerry before there is a touchscreen handset, the Z10 and one with a classic BlackBerry physical keyboard, the Q10 which was previously known as the X10. See also: BlackBerry 10 Price in UK: Q10 & Z10
Blackberry said: "The new BlackBerry 10 smartphones are elegant and distinctive, and the fastest, most advanced BlackBerry smartphones yet."
Both the Z10 and Q10 feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for expansion. The Z10 has a 4.2in screen while the Q10’s is 3.1in. Both have 4G LTE capability, NFC and a microHDMI port.
The new operating system is "a robust and reliable platform that is smooth and responsive. It has a modern design and a gesture-based interface that is highly discoverable. It is designed to support, learn, and adapt to the way you work and share" according to BlackBerry.
Features include BlackBerry Hub, Flow, Remember, Time Shift, BBM and Balance. The BlackBerry World app store launched with over 70,000 apps with thousands more to be added each week.
Blackberry said there will be a range of accessories for the new BlackBerry 10 smartphones, including the new BlackBerry Mini Stereo Speaker as well as a variety of carrying and charging solutions including a unique charger that provides on-the-go charging.
The UK will be the first country to get the new BlackBerry 10 phones. They will launch with EE, O2, Vodafone, Phones 4u, BT, Three and the Carphone Warehouse in black and white.
