Motorola confirms Razr Maxx is UK bound

The Razr with boosted battery life will tip up next month

Motorola has announced that its Razr Maxx smartphone will be available in the UK next month.

The handset is almost identical to the Razr which Motorola launched last year but with an increased battery life. The Razr Maxx will be available in mid-May from retailers such as Clove and Amazon for £430.

Victoria McManus, UK marketing director at Motorola said: "Since we re-imagined the iconic Razr brand, the Motorola Razr has wowed consumers across the globe by combining the pinnacle of design with mind-blowing power,"

"Razr Maxx builds on those same principles, delivering an incredible battery life that is perfect for people who want to push their smartphone to the limits and banish the low battery beep to history."

Motorola touts a total of 17.6 hours of talk time for the Razr Maxx. In comparison Apple lists up to eight hours of talk time for its iPhone 4S.

The handset is 8.9mm thick with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen. It will also come with MotoCast for media streaming and SmartActions to get the most out of the battery life by automatically changing the phone's settings.

The firm hasn't mentioned what version of Android it will ship with but Clove said it will come with 2.3.5 Gingerbread and will be upgradable to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
