Nokia Lumia 800 gets bleach makeover

White Stripes and Barry White promos included

Nokia has announced a white version of its Lumia 800 Windows Phone. The white version of the smartphone will go on general sale in March, with Phones4U taking preorders from today. Nokia says the handset will available on contract from £20.50 per month on a choice of UK networks.

The unibody touchscreen handset runs Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’. The 12.1mm thick phone is the first fruit of Microsoft’s acquisition of the Finnish phone maker. The Lumia 800 has garnered broadly positive reviews and is seen as Nokia’s best attempt to date at creating a smartphone to rival Android and iPhone handsets.

Powered by a 1.4GHz processor, the Lumia 800 has 16GB of onboard memory, cloud storage in the form of Microsoft SkyDrive and a 3.7in AmoLED touchscreen. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Internet Explorer-based web browsing, an HD video player and a 8Mp camera with Carl Zeiss optics are included.

To mark the launch of the white version of the phone, Nokia is offering 'white' themed tracks and skins to current and new Nokia customers. Examples include free tracks from The White Stripes and Barry White.
