Blue Microphones Unveils 3 New Mics

The Tiki, Mikey Digital and Spark Digital range are perfect for people who don't want to settle for mediocre audio capture.

Looking to upgrade the audio on your Skype calls, video conferences, or iOS music recordings? At CES, Blue Microphones is showing three new microphones for people who don't want to settle for mediocre notebook or cellphone audio capture.

The $59 Tiki, for example, is a thumb drive-sized mike designed to improve voice clarity in noisy environments. It uses advanced digital signal processing technologies to focus on the sound you want to capture, minimizing and/or muting background noise (for example, the sound of typing while you're Skyping). It's designed for mobile professionals who participate in conference calls while traveling.

Garage Band enthusiasts might consider investing $99 in Mikey Digital, which plugs into the dock of an iPhone 4/4s, iPod Touch, or iPad to capture high-quality stereo recordings. It has a multi-input jack, so you can add other audio sources (e.g. additional mics or musical instruments), and a USB pass-through port to let you charge it while recording.

For even more professional results, Blue is also introducing the retro-looking Spark Digital, a $199 digital edition of its studio-grade Spark analog mic that you can plug in to either an iOS dock or a USB port.

Blue expects to ship these microphones by spring.
