LG Arena KM900 3D smartphone

LG has confirmed it's to launch a 5Mp touchscreen smartphone with a 3D screen at Mobile World Congress next week.

The LG Arena KM900's display simulates three dimensions and spins round to allow the user to access different applications on each of its virtual sides.

LG describes its 3D interface as "a more fun and engaging gateway to delivering an amazing multimedia experience".

The Arena KM900 has a 3in WXGA display with a resolution of 400x800 pixels and comes with assisted GPS navigation, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity. LG describes the screen playback quality as akin to that of DVDs.

LG says it took great lengths to ensure that it delivers an exhilarating multimedia experience. The Arena handset will feature audio enhanced by Dolby and video that makes use of DivX technologies.

Full details of the handset will be announced at Mobile World Congress on Tuesday.
