Samsung Series 7 Ultra

Samsung has announced its Series 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra Windows 8 Ultrabooks at CES 2013.

The firm’s latest additions to its laptop line-up are the Series 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra Ultrabook, both running of Windows 8. There’s currently no word on when they will arrive or how much they will cost but we’ll be getting a closer look within the next couple of days. See also: CES Unveiled 2013 in pictures.

Samsung Series 7 Chronos

Samsung’s Series 7 Chronos (770Z5E) is your typical 15.6in laptop but with a Full HD 1080p screen with support for 10-point multi-touch. It measures in at 20.9mm and touts an impressive 11 hour battery life.

The Series 7 Chronos enables creation of heavy content for professional use with increased efficiency and productivity, anywhere and anytime.

The Ultrabook will be powered by an Intel Core i7-3635QM, a 2.4GHz quad-core processor and either 4GB or 8GB of RAM. Samsung said it will take advantage of a RAMaccelerator for up to 150 percent faster web browsing and apps.

Other specifications include up to a 1TB hard drive, HDMI port, a backlit keyboard and an AMD Radeon HD 8870M Graphics with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

Samsung Series 7 Ultra

The Series 7 Ultra (730U3E) is a smaller version of the Chronos. It has a 13.3in screen still with a Full HD 1080p resolution and 10-point multi-touch input. With an aluminum body it measures in at 18.9mm.

Samsung Series 7 Ultra back

It will run on an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 or i7 with up to 16GB of RAM. Alongside these is a 256GB SSD and an AMD HD8570M graphics card with 1GB of RAM.

Samsung said the Ultrabook: "embodies superior mobility and performance in an ultra-slim and light, full aluminum body." And quoted a battery life of eight hours.

It also has a backlit keyboard, a 720p webcam and both VGA and HDMI ports.
