The Taiwanese firm announced it wants to go hard-core in the gaming market at its New York global launch event following the success of its V Nitro gear. As well as unveiled a shed load of new products, the firm boldly claimed it would be the last PC maker left standing.

Jason Chen, ceo of Acer, said: "We will be the last man standing for the PC industry."

"The Predator line will feature a distinct design language to capture the speed and excitement of PC gaming, and the upcoming range will complement the already available Predator desktop line with notebooks, tablets and monitors," said Acer.

First up is the Predator Desktop which will arrive in Q3 with the 'latest processors' and 'latest graphics'. The chassis is something of beast and as you would expect from a full-size tower, expandability will be decent. See also: Acer announces new Liquid Fit, Liquid Curve and Liquid Active wearables.

Acer also announced Predator Notebook models which will arrive in Q4. You'll have a choice of 15- or 17in screen sizes and memory and storage will be expandable. The Predator laptops will take on the likes of Alienware and Razer.

To go with your Predator PC or laptop, the Predator Z35 is a curved screen monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, Nvidia G-Sync technology and DTS sound.

Last but by no means least, is the Predator Tablet which will be a rival for the Nvidia Shield Tablet. It will land in Q3 and we know little about it other than it's got a pretty angular design, an 8in screen, a microSD card slot and four speakers (because two isn't enough obviously).
