MSI CX640 16.1in laptop

MSI has unveiled the CX640 – a new model in its C-series of laptops. The 16.1in screen laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium and comes in Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i3 versions.

The CX640 will come with MSI's Time Stamp technology which allows the contents of the PC to be backed up at the touch of a button. Alternatively, it can be set to back up at every boot, every 30 minutes or every day. Documents and even the PC's hard disk can even be restored at the click of a button.

An Intel Core i5 processor is encased in a brushed aluminium effect chassis, available in either black or grey. MSI claims boot up is two times faster than standard laptops, while the hard drive has been repositioned in the middle of the laptop and surrounded it with shockproof housing, a move that the company claims will ensure your data is safe no matter what happens to the laptop.

The MSI CX640 also comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GT520M graphics processor, complete 1GB off dedicated memory and support for DirectX 11. Meanwhile MSI's ECO Engine technology adapts the power consumption dynamically according to the use of the laptop, to slow battery drain.

The laptop also comes with a 16.1in screen, a 320GB hard drive and 4GB of memory. A HD webcam, seven-in-one card reeader and Windows 7 Home Premium complete the package, which is priced at £524.99 exc VAT. The CR 640 which comes with a Core i3 processor and either 2GB or 4GB of memory costs £369.99 or £399.99 respectively.
