Toshiba mini NB520 10.1in netbook

Toshiba has unveiled two new netbooks, the mini NB520 and the mini NB500. The 10.1in netbooks, which weigh 1.32kg each, are powered by dual-core Intel Atom processors and run Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Both machines feature 1GB of memory, a 250GB hard disk drive and a 1,024x600-pixel display with LED backlighting. The machines also come with a memory card reader, Wi-Fi and optional Bluetooth.

The Toshiba mini NB520 has integrated Harman/Kardonspeakers and Dolby Advanced Audio technology. Toshiba Sleep-and-Music technology allows users to connect an MP3 player to the netbook and play tracks through the speakers, even if the machine if switched off.

Meanwhile, the Toshiba Sleep-and-Charge USB port ensures devices such as mobile phones or MP3 players can be charged via USB when the netbook is in sleep mode.

The NB520 is available in the brown, blue or green, while the NB500 also comes in these colours as well as black.

The mini NB520 and mini NB500 will be available from January. Pricing has yet to be released.
