Packard Bell dot VR46 netbook

Packard Bell has finally released the specifications its first Valentino Rossi netbook. The dot VR46 is an 11.6in netbook and is the first in a planned range of models emblazoned with the motorcycle hero's helmet design.

The Packard Bell dot VR46 boasts a 1366x768-pixel display while its glossy black case features the same distinctive sun and moon design that adorns the Moto GP star's helmets.

The netbook's name derives from Valentino Rossi's initials plus his race number, 46.

The Packard Bell dot VR46 netbook is a Windows 7 Home Premium model that is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and has a 640GB hard drive. It comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an HDMI port, a webcam and a five-in-one card reader.

The full-size keyboard will have a multi-gesture touchpad. A 3G mobile broadband module will be available as an optional extra. The netbook weighs 1.35kg. Its six-cell battery should last for up to eight hours between charges.

The Packard Bell dot VR46 will cost £449.99 for the standard specification. A launch date has yet to be announced.
