Toshiba has unveiled two Windows 7 laptops geared up for entertainment duties. The Toshiba Satellite L450 and L555 are aimed at consumers who want high-definition graphics at a keen price.
The 15.6in Toshiba Satellite L450 costs a modest £329, making it barely more expensive than the average netbook computer. The L555 model, meanwhile, has a 17.3in screen and costs £699. Both machines can be bought with either Intel or AMD processors and sport a 500GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM. They go onsale next week.
An HDMI port will allow the Satellite-brand laptops to be connected to a high-definition PC monitor or HDTV. The screens will feature an integrated webcam and microphone with face-recognition. As well as video-conferencing and video chat, this can be used to securely log-in to the laptops.
The machines also come with three USB ports, a four-in-one card reader, Wi-Fi connectivity and a DVD drive.
