Medion has launched the Akoya P6612 - a 16in widescreen laptop powered by a 2GHz Intel Centrino 2 Duo P7350 processor.

Graphics duties on the Akoya P6612 are handled by an nVidia GeForce 9600M GS DirectX 10 video card with 256MB GDDR3 memory. The entertainment-centric laptop also has an integrated DVB-T Freeview TV tuner with remote control and the matte anti-glare 16in widescreen display is capable of handling HD content. It comes with a multi-format DVD/CD burner and a HDMI port so it can be attached to a high-definition TV.

The Akoya P6612 comes with 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard disk drive. The Akoya P6612 also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, an integrated webcam and microphone, a biometric fingerprint reader, three USB and one eSATA port, plus a four-in-one card reader.

Running Windows Vista Home Premium edition, the laptop also comes bundled with Microsoft Works 9.0, Medion Home Cinema Suite, Nero Essentials, Corel Draw Essentials3 and a 90-day trial of BullGuard Internet Security Suite.

Priced at £579.99, the Medion Akoya P6621 is available from Aldi stores across the UK.
