O2 has launched its Pocket Hotspot, a mobile Wi-Fi internet gadget.
The pocket sized mobile Wi-Fi allows users to access the internet on the go on up to five devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops simultaneously. The O2 Pocket Hotspot costs £59 and has different data allowances on offer. See also: Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi R205 review.
Gary Booker, general manager of consumer at O2 said: "Customers have told us that they want access to the web on the go, but that they don’t always want to sign up for year-long contracts or to buy lots of data from the outset."
"O2 Hotspot has been designed to cater for exactly those needs: lowering up-front costs and offering customers lots of options when it comes to the amount of data they buy – what they need, when they need it."
Apart from the price of the Pocket Hotspot, users can choose a pay daily deal which gives 200MB of data for £2.04 per day. Alternatively, a fee of £10.21 or £15.32 will get 1GB and 2GB of data respectively for a 30 day period.
O2 said the Pocket Hotspot offers 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity with maximum download speeds of 21.6 Mbps and upload at 5.76 Mbps.
