Bluetooth hands-free chat powered by the sun

Scosche has unveiled a Bluetooth speakerphone that uses a solar panel to recharge its battery. The Scosche SolVUE is designed to enable drivers to make safe hands-free calls. It has a liquid crystal display that recognises the phone numbers and announces the names of up to 1000 contacts stored on the phone with which it is paired. Calls can be initiated with a single button press. The speakerphone attaches to a windscreen via a suction cup or clips to the sun visor.

The solar panel on the front of the SolVUE can store power in its cells for up to a year. However, it can also be plugged in to the car’s power supply andl comes with a USB port and mains charger to power up the device when you finally pull over and hole up for the night. The Scosche SolVUE costs £89 from www.eoutlet.co.uk.
