There were hundreds of announcements throughout E3 2015 for a variety of games, including more game reveals than we could shake a stick at. However, there was one conference in particular that gaming fans are still talking about – the Bethesda announcement. More specifically, the announcement of Fallout 4 for consoles and the announcement of Fallout Shelter for mobile devices.

Fallout Shelter for Android: What is Fallout Shelter?

So, what exactly is Fallout Shelter? In a nutshell, it’s a mobile game that gives you complete control over your very own Vault, and the citizens that reside in it. The aim of the game is to create the best vault you can to keep your Dwellers happy, fed and protected from the dangers of the outside world in this post-apocalyptic adventure.

You’re provided with a variety of modern-day rooms to help make your Vault thrive, with rooms dedicated to generating power, cooking food, creating weapons and more – but it’s down to you to decide who works in which room. Each Dweller has its own personality, which will make them ideal for one kind of job, but bad at the rest. It’s down to you to look at their various attributes and decipher what it might mean, and where they’ll flourish.

Once you’ve created weapons, trained your dwellers and given them better outfits, they can venture out into the Wastelands above. Sending a Dweller into the Wastelands can yield great results, with a chance for them to bring back armour and weapons as well as gain experience and, of course, earn Caps. However, there’s also risks involved in sending a Dweller outside in this dangerous environment, namely dying. You’ll want to avoid killing off your community, as it needs people to thrive.

If that wasn’t enough, your Vault may be disrupted from time to time by the dangers of the world you live in. You have to prepare your Dwellers to protect your vault, both from the outside and within…

Fallout Shelter for Android release date: Is Fallout Shelter going to be released for Android devices?

The game was released in June 2015 for iOS devices, but what about an Android release? Is that on the cards for Fallout Shelter? Of course it is. A member of the Fallout Shelter development team recently gave this update on the status of the games’ Android counterpart: “We’re working on the Android version, and are hoping to release it in the next few months.”

“When we have more concrete information to share, we’ll definitely let everyone know.”

Fallout Shelter for Android release date: When is Fallout Shelter going to be released for Android devices?

The wait for Android fans is nearly over, as Bethesda announced recently that Fallout Shelter will be released for Android devices on Thursday 13 August 2015. The Android release comes as Bethesda announced that since June, Fallout Shelter has been the top downloaded game in 48 countries, and the top downloaded app of any kind in 25 countries.

Bethesda also anonunced a new update to the game for both iOS and Android users which includes Mr Handy. Mr Handy is a robotic companion that can collect resources inside your vault, collect loot in the wasteland or defend your Vault from any attackers and disasters. The update will also feature new threats to your Vault, including Deathclaw invasions and Molerat infestations.
