Optoma has launched a second version of its PK pico projectors. The PK102 went onsale in the US earlier in the year and has now been launched in the UK.
The Optoma PK102 has an 4GB internal memory and the ability to beam images stored on it on to a wall at a maximum size of 60in. Images are shown at a contrast ratio of 2000:1. Photos and PowerPoint videos can be shown on the PK102, which has a lamp life of around 20,000 hours.
The 110g projector is smaller than a paperback novel and can display Jpeg, Tiff, GIF, PNG, bitmap, TGA, FPX, PCX, PCD and PSD images. AVI, WMV, MOV, Mpeg4, FLV, Jpeg, PPT and PPTX video formats are also supported. Optoma supplies Pico PC software to facilitate the transfer of footage and photos to the mini projector. The optics for the mini projector are provided by Texas Instruments.
The Optoma PK102 is able to use an iPod, iPhone, PSP games console, laptop, Mac or PC as its source. A VGA input has been added to this second-generation model to improve its usefulness as a tool for business users.
The £229 Optoma PK102 projector is onsale now.
