Navigon 70 Easy Plus satnav arrives

Large-screen satnav with realistic routing and built-in search

Navigon has been making high-end, smartly-finished personal satnav devices for around four years and is very much from the ‘more is more’ camp when it comes to features. It’s not afraid to innovate and was one of the first navigation companies to launch a commercial satnav app on the iPhone. Perhaps it’s no surprise, then, that it is currently the focus of a buyout bid by satnav giant Garmin.

The 5in-screen Navigon 70 offers full European maps, thousands of points of interest that the user can switch on and off and a useful lane assistance feature that not only uses colour-coding to indicate the lane that should be taken, but also shows full information about which destinations are listed on the relevant road sign and warns of cambers and sharp bends or changes in the terrain.

MyBestRoutes and a Reality Pro feature that offers enhanced geographic information are included. A year’s worth of live traffic updates and a Google Search feature are offered with the €229 satnav.
