TomTom Start 20 satnav

Navigation devices comes with either 4.3in or 5in display

TomTom has added two new satnavs to its range. The TomTom Start 20 is a 4.3in screen satnav while the Start 25 has a 5in display.

The device measures 119x80x25mm and has a 480x272-pixel touchscreen with an orientation sensor, so no matter which way drivers mount the device to their dashboard, the image will always be displayed the correct way up.

Users will benefit from a 2GB internal flash memory, as well as spoken street names and advanced lane guidence so drivers known exactly which lane they need to be in when approaching junctions.

TomTom also revealed it has added 2 million kilometres of new roads to the maps pre-installed on the satnav, as well as enhancing the graphics in built-up areas, forests and areas with water. Further, the maps contains twice as many points of interest (POI) as before.

"New satnav users can benefit from enhanced safety and comfort, all wrapped up in a very stylish, easy-to-use package," says Corinne Vigreux, managing director at TomTom. "No other satnav provider offers such good looks and intelligent features in a range that is predominantly aimed at first-time buyers."

The 4.3in TomTom Start 20 is priced at £129.99 with UK maps and £149.99 with European maps. Meanwhile, the 5in TomTom Start 25 costs £169.99 and comes bundled with European maps. Both are available now.
