Cloud Engines has launched an updated, Wi-Fi-enabled version of its Pogoplug device. The Pogoplug Pro stores and shares files over a home network but can also be used to access and stream files from a remote location. The Pogoplug setup can be controlled via an iPhone app or from another Mac or PC. Pogoplug users are also able to securely share their content with friends, family and colleagues.
The Pogoplug Pro builds on the features of its processor by offering built-in Wi-Fi and the ability to add multiple users. Guest users can store files without the need for their own Pogoplug device. You can even create custom email addresses so friends and family can email files straight to folders on the Pogoplug.
The device also comes with a web view that allows other people to preview but not to download your files via the web. The Pogoplug interface is customisable so you can change the colour, logo, domain name and background image to suit you.
The Pogoplug Pro will be onsale in the UK this month and costs $99.
