GE has launched a range of digital cameras that warn the user if a subject blinks while a photograph is being taken. Blink-detection technology displays a message on the cameras' LCD screens so users can retake the image. All seven models in the range also feature smile detection technology, which automatically engages the shutter when a smile is detected.

From point-and-shoot cameras aimed at beginners, to lightweight and high performance models, the GE range features a camera to suit everyone. All the models, which range from 7Mp to 12Mp, are available in black and silver, although other colours including red, pink, blue and green will also be in production.

The top-of-the-range GE E1050 features a 3in LCD touchscreen and HDMI connectivity to ensure the camera can be connected to an HDTV without the need for a cradle or docking station.

Four of the models will be available in the UK from March, with the remaining three to follow in summer 2008. Prices are expected to range from £60 to £150. To find out more about GE cameras, click here to visit www.general-imaging.com.
