Netgear WNDR4700 Media Storage Router unveiled

Store and share digital content over dual-band WiFi n

Netgear’s new media storage router pretty much explains itself. The WNDR4700 is a combined wireless router and network storage drive that allows you to get at and share your digital photos, music and video on any connected home device.

Unusually, this Netgear router can provide with Apple Time Machine and Windows-based backups. A pair of USB 3.0 ports, a 2TB hard drive (user upgradable) and concurrent 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi all feature. Netgear reasons that the USB ports can be used to add networking capabilities to standard USB drives, thereby cheaply adding to the amount of networked storage space available.

The WNDR4700 Media Storage Router was on show at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.
