MSI has launched a 17in gaming laptop based around a T5800 2GHz Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor.
The MSI GX723 is primed with a 512MB DDR3 nVIDIA Geforce GT 130M 3D graphics card and supports full 1080p HD playback.
The T5800 2GHz Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo "gamers' choice" laptop has the ability to turbo charge CPU performance by up to 16 percent. It is also geared up for entertainment duties and has an HDMI output for 5Gbps data transfers.
The 17in display supports a native resolution of 1,680x1,050. Alternatively, the laptop can be hooked up to an external high-definition TV screen or flat-panel display or even to a home cinema projector.
A Windows Vista Home Premium machine, the MSI GX723 also boasts an eco-mode to help conserve the battery and keep power consumption to a minimum when not being used to blast through the opposition. It comes with 4GB of DDR2 RAM, though customers can optionally upgrade it to an 8GB model.
A 500GB SATA hard disk drive and DVD writer, 2Mp webcam, 802.11n Wi-Fi and an Express Card slot plus a four-in-one card reader are provided.
The £999 inc VAT gaming laptop measures 395x278x35mm (26.5mm at its slimmest point) and weighs 3.2kg. It goes onsale at the end of May.
