BFG Deimos X-10 gaming laptops

BFG Deimos X-10 gaming laptopBFG (Big Friendly Giant), has launched an 18.4in gaming laptop with nVidia SLI graphics and up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

The Deimos X-10 can take two 1GB GeForce GTX 280M graphics cards and has a proper 1920x1080-pixel resolution screen. Customers can choose between an Intel Core 2 Duo, Quad or Extreme processor and can have up to 1.5TB hard disk.

HDMI and DVI digital connectors allow the BFG Deimos X-10 to be hooked up to an external high-definition display so fast-paced gaming can be enjoyed on a home cinema projector screen or an HD TV. A Blu-ray DVD drive is offered as a $120 extra.

Three models of the X-10 are available: the standard, dual-core model, known as the X-10 Performance, has an 8x DVD rewriter comes with a pair of 320GB hard disk drives and runs off 4GB of DDR3 RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz processor. The Advanced model ups the storage to two 500GB drives in a Raid 0 configuration with the dual-SLI graphics.

"The Deimos X-10 SLI notebook is perfect for gamers and media enthusiasts who demand desktop performance but prefer the portability of a notebook," said John Malley, senior director of marketing for BFG Technologies.

"Deimos X-10 comes fully locked and loaded to deliver the ultimate HD mobile gaming and multimedia experience", said Malley.

Prices start at $2,299 for the X-10 Performance and go up to $4,449 for the top-end Elite. UK prices have not yet been revealed. Initially shipping is to the US, with UK sales expected to start in November.
