Dell Precision M2400 and M4400 laptops

Dell has announced a number of new models in its Latitude and Precision laptop ranges.

The Latitude E6400 ATG is a semi-ruggidised laptop designed to meet military standards for vibration, dust, humidity and altitude. Priced at £899, the 14.1in laptop uses an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and comes with a choice of shock-mounted hard drives or a 64GB SSD (solid state disk) as well as 8GB of memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. A fingerprint reader is offered as an optional extra.

Dell says the E6400 has a battery life of up to 19 hours. The single nine-cell battery racks up 10 hours, while a further nine hours can be gained from an additional battery that snaps on to the bottom of the laptop.

Dell has also launched the Precision M2400, a 14.1in laptop priced at £889, while its bigger sibling, the 15.4in Precision M4400, costs £939. Both Precision laptops feature Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 8GB of RAM, a choice of 160, 320 and 500GB hard drives or a 64GBSSD, a 5-in-1 card reader and Bluetooth connectivity.
