QuietPC Pertelian X2040

No, this isn’t yet another satellite navigation device. It’s a small additional screen for your PC that enables you to read emails, instant messages and other otherwise distracting items without having to muck about with maximising and minimising windows.

Judging by the sort of places it's being stocked and where we've seen it advertised overseas, the Pertelian is especially likely to appeal to gamers, for whom a split-second distraction, let alone a gurt big popup can quite literally spell death. Those watching the stock markets with interest may also find this piece of gadgetry a boon.

Not quite as nifty as the SideShow feature on Vista laptop lids, but the £40 inc VAT Pertelian X2040 has its charms. For more details head to www.quietpc.com.
