Toshiba Portégé R500 laptops

Toshiba today announced what it claims is the world’s lightest notebook PC with an optical disc drive.

Toshiba says the Portégé R500 is 'a new breakthrough for portability, productivity and style'.

The Toshiba Portégé R500 will be available from August 2007. It will come in single and dual spindle configurations. The single spindle Portégé R500 weighs in at a tiny 779g and is Toshiba’s first laptop to feature a flash-based 64GB solid state disk.
