Contexture Design has come up with an innovative way to protect your iPod nano and indulge in a spot of analogue music nostalgia at the same time: the 45 nano cassette-style iPod case.
The nano models follow the 45 series of iPod cases the firm made from folded-up 7in vinyl 'records'. (Teenagers: these were what grandad played his skiffle jazz on before your generation invented the iPod and UK grime-step.) The new cases, created from a selection of vintage cassette tapes that you can check out on the company's website, are designed for the first and second-generation iPod nanos, but Contexture Design points out that it is working on a version for the latest iPod nano.
"Reusing an old music medium to protect technology that surpassed it really resonates with us as music fans and sustainable designers," says Trevor Coghill, co-founder of Contexture Design.
The cases may be ordered from 45ipodcases.com for $45 plus applicable taxes and shipping.
