The Contour 200i Air is available for £199 and includes a traditional physical docking connector and Apple AirPlay for wireless streaming. It uses a pair of 3.5in 'full-range' drivers and has an RMS of 36W.
Says Colin Crawford, director of marketing at Pure said: "Someday we’ll wonder why we ever had to physically connect devices, and Apple AirPlay is leading that behavioural seachange."
"There is nothing to beat the convenience of sitting back in your armchair to control your music collection with your iPad or iPhone, while the music itself is played beautifully and powerfully by Contour 200i Air."
Content from the Pure Lounge app can also be streamed wirelessly to the Contour 200i Air. As well as iPhone and iPad, the dock is compatible with iPod and iTunes from a PC or laptop.
The Contour 200i Air connects to a home network via ethernet or Wi-Fi to make use of AirPlay. It also has a digital audio output and an auxiliary input for connecting other devices.
Pure said: "As well as being a key part of the expanding Contour dock family, Contour 200i Air is also part of the an EcoPlus programme, a statement of Pure’s ethical philosophy and ongoing commitment to looking after the environment."
