Philips GoGear Muse SA3 touchscreen media player

Swipe the screen to change the volume

Philips has started UK sales of its GoGear Muse 3 portable media player. The MP3 player and video device has a 3.2in widescreen display that is touch-sensitive and uses a ‘swipe’ mechanism for accessing menu items and adjusting volume. This means there’s no need to fiddle about looking for a volume rocker – you can just dab at the screen and instantly get the Muse 3 player to quieten down.

Philips also includes a SafeSound function that allows parents to limit the maximum volume, thereby protecting kids’ delicate ears from damage. Griffin Technology introduced the idea of specific volume limits on audio equipment used by children with its still-popular Griffin MyPhones headphones

Primed with either 8GB or 16GB of memory, an FM radio and Philips earphones, the GoGear Muse 3 costs from £110.
