Sonos has added Google Android support to its growing list of options for how to wirelessly control and enjoy music around your home. The multi-room music player now has a dedicated Android app. This joins the Spotify tie-in and the Sonos for Apple iPhone app that launched previously.
Control your music wirelessly via your Android tablet or smartphone
With the launch of the Sonos Android app music fans now get to push their music not just from tablet to hi-fi dock to smartphone, but also to listen to the albums stored on their cute little handhelds around the home. The Sonos multi-room music system isn’t cheap, but if you like to have music wherever you go and to be able to change the track, the volume or even which speakers it plays to at a stroke, this high-tech, high-fidelity marvel is one of the swankiest options around.
The Sonos base controller for the modular setup costs £349, with each Zone player costing an additional £50. The Android and iPhone apps are free and allow an iPad, Android tablet, iPhone or Android smartphone to control playback and which audio source is used.
