Philips GoGear Muse media player

Philips has unveiled a new version of its GoGear Muse media player. The device now features a 3.2in 16:9 capacitive touchscreen and several technologies to further enhance listening pleasure.

SafeSound alerts the user when the sound is above a safe listening level and could cause damage to their hearing. By pressing the 'Safe' button, the device will automatically lower the volume to a level unlikely to damage hearing. Users can even get daily and weekly analyses of the sound levels to which they've been exposed. A Sound Personalisation feature allows the user  to adjust the bass and treble levels of the sound.

Users will also benefit from LikeMusic, a new feature in Philips SongBird music organisation software, which can be installed on your PC and helps you manage music on the GoGear Muse. Similar to iTunes Genius, LikeMusic analyses the music you're listening to and creates playlists based on songs that fit seamlessly together

Available in 8GB, 16GB or 32GB capacities, the GoGear Muse will be available from July. Prices have not yet been announced.
