Philips Fidelio DS3000 iPod/iPhone dock

Philips has launched a portable iPod and iPhone dock as a companion to its Fidelio speaker.

The Philips Fidelio DS3000 dock sports the same conical design as the huge Fidelio speaker we looked at earlier in the year, but in this more compact form weighs only 960g and comes with a battery pack for out and about use.

The silver iPod and iPhone dock charges Apple devices plugged in to it and can simultaneously play iTunes content from an iPod through its 8W speaker.

The Philips Fidelio DS3000 is compatible with all generations of iPod and iPhone except the Shuffle, connects to a PC via USB for faster iTunes synchronisation and also has its own alarm clock app. Unlike the Altec Lansing Octiv 202 device (which also has its own alarm clock app), the Fidelio DS3000 can also be battery powered ensuring it can be used on the go. It is priced at £65.
