Sony NWZ-S630 and S730 video Walkman players

Sony has announced two superslim additions to its video Walkman MP3 players range. The NWZ-S630 and S730 are just 7.5mm thick.

Sony will offer the S-Series video MP3 players in a choice of four colours: red, black, pink and purple or orange and silver. The players feature a 1.5in QVGA LCD screen with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. The Sony Walkman-branded music and video players will come in either 4GB or 8GB versions.

Audio and video files in MP3, WMA, Jpeg, Windows Media Video, H.264/AVC and Mpeg4, can all be played on the Sony portable players. iTunes playlists will also be supported. Tracks and video clips be dragged-and dropped on to the devices' memory. Videos can be played back at 30fps in either portrait or landscape mode.

Sony includes a pair of noise-cancelling earphones with each of its players. The S630 and S730 player will also come preloaded with eight video tracks from Sony BMG artists including Chris Brown, Sandi Thom and The Ting Tings.

Available in Europe from October, no pricing has been announced yet.

The Sony NWZ-S630 and S730 build on the legacy of the slim but stunning Sony NW-A805 video Walkman player.
