Altec Lansing inMotion iM500 speaker for iPod nano

Altec Lansing has released an updated version of its inMotion iM500 portable speaker system that's compatible with the third generation iPod nano.

Measuring 215x18x12mm and weighing 240g, the Altec Lansing iM500 features a built-in iPod docking station. The iPod plugs in to the dock and you can then enjoy your digital music through the iM500's two broad-faced speaker cones that maximise the surface area to drive more air within a small space.

The Altec Lansing speakers have a foldaway design so they can more easily be transported. The MaxBass technology Altec Lansing includes, meanwhile, should offer greater bass performance.

"We know that people want to share and enjoy mobile entertainment, so we have made the iM500 portable and powerful to make this lifestyle easy," said Luc Ackaert, marketing director at Altec Lansing.

The iM500 can be powered by either AC mains or six AAA batteries and also features an auxiliary jack that enables users to plug in other audio devices. The speaker system us available through www.alteclansing.com for €99 (£84).
