Apple confirms 128GB iPad 4 will launch on 5 February

Apple doubles iPad 4 storage to 128GB

As rumoured this week, Apple has announced a 128GB iPad 4 which will go on sale next week.

The new 128GB iPad will go on sale on 5 February priced at £639 for Wi-Fi-only and £739 for Wi-Fi and Cellular. Like the rest of the iPad range it will be available in black and white. Pricing in the US is $799 and $929. See alsoiPad 3 vs iPad 4 comparison review

Philip Schiller, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing at Apple said, "With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."

Apple's new 128GB iPad will still have the 9.7in Retina display, A6X processor, FaceTime HD camera and the same physical design. It will come pre-loaded with iOS 6.1 which Apple released yesterday. Best cases and covers for the new iPad

"With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs," added Schiller.

Apple said companies using large amounts of data on iPads in tasks like 3D CAD, film editing, music creation, X-rays will benefit from the larger storage capacity. The 128GB iPad will also be available via the Apple Store and authorised resellers to consumers who just simply want more space for apps, books, music and films.
