Step one

The first thing you need to do is get back to the non-Modern UI Windows desktop. From here simply right click and then click on Personalise. Take a look at How to delete or remove Windows 8 apps for PC, laptop and tablet.

Step two

Now that you are in the Personalise menu, you need to click on Color, which can be found at the bottom and centre of the window.

Step three

You will now see 16 different stand colour options, which you can select. Simply select the one that you one that you like and toggle the Color Intensity slider until it suits your taste.

You can further tweak the colour by hitting the ‘Color Mixer’ down arrow and adjusting the Hue, Saturation and Brightness of the selected colour.

How to choose a colour scheme in Windows 8’s Start Screen

There’s a good chance that you might want to change the colour scheme for the new Windows 8 Modern UI / Start Screen too. Doing this is also very easy.

Step one

Bring in the charms bar from the right hand side of the screen and open settings.

Step two

Open the Personalise Tab on the left coloum and then select the Start Screen tab at the top.

Step three

From here all you need to do is select the colour scheme that you like the most.
