Setting up your Windows Phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot couldn't be easier. Simply follow these simple steps and you will be able to tether your smartphone's 3G/4G data connection to any device that has Wi-Fi connectivity. See Windows Phone 8 review.

As we mentioned earlier. If you have a Windows Phone and your mobile tariff is set up for tethering, then actually setting up your smartphone as a Wi-fi hotspot really couldn't be simpler. Here's how:

Go to the Windows Phone homescreen and then swipe across until you get the list on applications in alphabetical order. From here scroll down to the Settings app and open it.

Now that you're in Settings you need to make sure you are in the System tab (it should be the first one you see). From here open 'internet sharing'.

You will notice that internet sharing is turned off when you first open this screen. Simply turn it on and then hit 'setup' which can be found at the bottom of the screen.

From here you will be given two options. All you need to do is put in what you want your new Wi-Fi hotspot to be called in the top box, and then set the password for the Wi-Fi hotspot in the bottom box.

That's it. You've done it. The next and final step is to open the Wi-Fi connection settings on the device you want to connect to the internet on, search for the name of the Wi-Fi hotspot you have just created and then enter the password you have just given it. Happy surfing.
