Stop Windows taskbar disappearing

When Windows Taskbar won't lock

The Windows Taskbar is an important feature of many Windows PCs and laptops. But what happens if your Taskbar keeps vanishing? Our Helproom Editor explains how to stop your PC's Windows Taskbar disappearing.

QUESTION The Windows Taskbar on my laptop disappears when I click in another window or move my cursor away from it. The ‘Lock the Taskbar' option in its context menu doesn't fix the problem, so what should I try next? Nick

HELPROOM ANSWER The ‘Lock the Taskbar' option doesn't provide the function you require, instead preventing you from accidentally moving or re-sizing the Taskbar. The Taskbar disappears because the ‘Auto-hide the Taskbar' option is enabled. Disable this option and your problem should be fixed.
