Just because a Registry Cleaner tells you to remove entries from your PC or laptop's Registry, you may not want to. However, reader Edward wants to get rid of three entries that CCleaner regularly picks out, and our Helproom Expert is glad to show him how to permanently uninstall entries from your PC's Registry.

QUESTION CCleaner frequently removes three entries from my PC's Registry – SMax4.exe, SMax4Wiz.exe and SMWizard.exe. Every time I reboot the machine they reappear. How can I delete them? Edward V Wilkinson

HELPROOM ANSWER These files are part of the SoundMax audio system and don't need to be removed from your PC. If you really want them gone, uninstall any SoundMax audio applications you find at Start, Control Panel, ‘Uninstall or change a program'. See all How to articles.
